A Charleston Tradition, Lowcountry Style

Oktoberfest on the Lake, Family First

Lederhosen on the dock, a stein under the pines. Oktoberfest at Trophy Lakes is a laid-back lakeside beer garden on Johns Island: Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest beer poured into proper one-liter steins (Maßkrüge), German snacks, blue-and-white tables and the water right behind you. Come in your dirndl, come in your flip-flops, just come thirsty. Admission is just $1 for guests 21 and up.

This is a family water park, not a beer fest. Think relaxed afternoon, not rowdy night out. Parents enjoy a German beer and a bite by the lake; kids enjoy one of the last days of the season on the Aqua Park or Ropes Course, with our lifeguards watching them on the water. On land, you are still the grown-up, so please drink responsibly.

The Real Stuff, by the Liter

We pour two of Munich's official Oktoberfest beers, Paulaner Oktoberfest and Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest, into genuine one-liter steins (Maßkrüge), the way it's done on the Wiesn. Pair it with soft pretzels and German snacks every fest day. On Saturday, September 26, a food truck joins us with German-style dishes (bratwurst, schnitzel and the works), so plan on lunch. We're working on a food truck for September 19 too; if it doesn't pan out, German snacks have you covered.

  • Paulaner Oktoberfest on tap
  • Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest on tap
  • Served in one-liter steins (Maßkrüge)
  • Soft pretzels & German snacks every fest day
  • German food truck on Saturday, Sept 26 (Sept 19 TBA)
  • Dirndl & lederhosen encouraged
Parents, This One's for You

Kids Play. You Prost.

The Kids Park Pass is the whole idea behind our Oktoberfest: the kids get one last afternoon of jumping, climbing and sliding on the Aqua Park or the Ropes Course on the season's final weekends, and you get to sit at a picnic table by the lake with a stein in hand, steps from the water, while our lifeguards keep an eye on them out there.

  1. 1. Book a pass per child

$40 per child, ages 6+, for the Oktoberfest day you're coming. Only 40 passes per day, first come, first served, so book early.

  2. 2. Check in from 1 PM

Stop by the front desk anytime from 1 PM. We'll get them a life jacket and slot them into the next Aqua Park or Ropes Course session with availability.

  3. 3. They play until 5 PM

Jump, climb and slide until 5 PM (or until they're worn out). You enjoy the beer garden, just steps from the water.

  4. 4. A parent stays on-site

A parent or guardian must remain at the park. Bring swimsuits, towels and a signed waiver for each child, plus closed-toe shoes if they want the Ropes Course.

Oktoberfest FAQ

Is this a beer festival?

No. It's a family water park hosting a relaxed Oktoberfest afternoon. Parents enjoy a German beer and snacks by the lake; kids enjoy the Aqua Park or Ropes Course. It's not a place to get drunk, and our staff will ask anyone who can't behave to leave. Please drink responsibly.

Do kids need a ticket to come to Oktoberfest?

No. Kids and guests under 21 enter free with an adult. The $40 Kids Park Pass is only if they want to hit the Aqua Park or Ropes Course.

Does the $1 admission include the Aqua Park or Ropes Course?

No. The $1 wristband gets you into the Oktoberfest beer garden only, not into the Aqua Park, Ropes Course or any other activity. Kids get on the park with the $40 Kids Park Pass; adults who want to jump or climb book a regular Aqua Park or Ropes Course session.

How many Kids Park Passes are available?

40 per festival day, first come, first served. Once they're gone, they're gone, so book ahead.

What time can my kids start?

Pass holders can join any Aqua Park or Ropes Course session with availability between 1 and 5 PM. Come early for the best selection.

Can I do the Aqua Park or Ropes Course too?

The Kids Park Pass is for kids only. Adults who want a session can book regular Aqua Park or Ropes Course tickets. But honestly, there's a stein with your name on it.

Is there an age minimum?

Aqua Park and Ropes Course are ages 6 and up. Life jackets are provided and required on the water; closed-toe shoes are required on the Ropes Course.

Is there food?

German snacks and soft pretzels every fest day. A food truck serving German-style dishes joins us on Saturday, September 26, and we're working on one for September 19 as well.

What if it rains?

Oktoberfest runs rain or shine. If lightning closes the park, we'll rebook or refund Kids Park Passes.

“Absolutely epic adventure! Charleston Aqua Park is hands-down one of the most fun spots we’ve been to. From start to finish, the entire experience was amazing. The park is well-run, clean, and super organized, and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe while still having the time of their lives. The inflatable obstacle courses are a total workout in disguise—you’re laughing, climbing, sliding, and jumping nonstop. It’s perfect for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to do something different and adventurous in Charleston. The atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming, and you can tell the team really cares about creating a memorable experience. We left with huge smiles, tired muscles, and lots of stories to tell. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check this place out—it’s a guaranteed great time!”

“Hands down the best family day we’ve had all summer! The kids were in heaven with the aqua park’s slides, obstacles, and ropes course, and I loved that they could burn energy while I enjoyed the gorgeous lake views (and a perfectly chilled frosé 🍹). The owners and staff treat you like family. They go above and beyond with their service. Everything is safe, clean, and well-run/organized, so I could actually relax and have fun too. This place is such a hidden gem in town! We are now regulars and their biggest fans.”
